For as long as I can remember I have had a love/hate relationship with food and exercise. I was never particularly overweight just always heavier then all of my friends and I had to work to keep myself in shape. I’ve always been obsessed with food, thinking about my next meal hours before it’s time to eat.
Starting as early as 16 I went on my first diet, The Diet Center. I followed that plan religiously, never snuck one piece of food in my mouth that wasn’t “approved”. The diet phase consisted of a mere 900 calories, and the maintenance 1200 calories, kinda low for this girl. I kept the weight off for a long time and didn’t really try another diet until I was 23. In my 20s I wanted a quick fix, so I tried Phen-Fen. That diet left me feeling like a speed-freak and I really never lost much weight, plus it’s also possible that my heart murmur was a result of that plan. Then about 25 I met my husband and fell head-over-heals in love and for the first time my weight maintained itself perfectly with no effort. Some people say “fat and happy” for me it is apparently the opposite. By 30 I started to notice that my no effort diet was not longer for this world and that my age was going to start playing a part in a slowing metabolism. That’s when I got myself a personal trainer, started running and eating correctly.
So at the beginning of 2017 I thought, “I’m going to write a blog where I test out diets and see how they work and blog it for the people”. I figured it was a great plan to keep me focused on eating right and staying in shape all while sharing my experiences. I didn’t expect to find a healthy lifestyle that I love so much through nutritional cleansing. I decided I had to stick with this as a permanent lifestyle because it allows me to get in the best shape of my life but without being so restrictive that I can’t enjoy it too.
Now I want to share with everyone how you can also adopt this same lifestyle so you all can live an energetic, focused, happy and balanced life.
