I’ve spent the last week mostly just trying to figure out this whole blog thing. God forbid I actually read instructions, not my thing. I would rather spend days clicking the same buttons over and over again and still having no idea how to use all the features of this blog. So please be patient as I continue to change this site until it is exactly how I want it to look.
So it’s time to announce my next diet challenge! I actually hate using the terms “diet” because ideally what I’m trying to do is experiment with various nutrition plans. I want to give the reader an insight into each so you can decide what is right for you. Although the word diet has ugly connotations for the purpose of this blog it’s faster to write so I’m going to go with it for now.
I have a couple of friends that have been on a nutritional cleansing plan and they are loving it. I figure what better plan could I possibly choose to do next? I will start my nutritional cleansing on Monday, May 15th. Maybe you are wondering why wait so long? Well that is because I’m getting ready to go on vacation to Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada! After my last 30-day Core de Force plan I decided that there has to be more to this blog then just my daily diary of eating and working out. Cause quite frankly I’m even bored by that and it’s my actual life. So I will start including all the other fun things I do to try and liven things up a bit. Balance is key to living an healthy and happy life so even though I will be going through my nutritional cleanse program I will also include activities/entertainment, great restaurants and travel (which we do a lot of) as a regular part of my blog.
I want to be very clear that even though I am trying all these diets plans, I am aware that I don’t really need to lose any weight. So even though nutritional cleansing is mostly for those that want to lose weight, it is still also great for people that want to develop more muscle mass, improve athletic performance, and just feel better in general everyday. This is the position I am taking with this plan, to exchange body fat for greater muscle mass and to improve my athletic performance so I can run my next 1/2 marathon in under 2 hours. I was told by my coaches that this plan would help reduce post-workout soreness (which I am plagued by) and make me cut. Sign me up!
My friends, Kim & Callie, are my coaches for this next plan and I intend for it to be longer then 30 days. I will do a ‘strict’ 30 days which means eating very clean and no drinking (ugh, that part bores me already) so as to get my body in balance. During these first 30 days I will be following a very specific plan that includes meal replacement shakes, healthy snacks and dinners, and cleansing on specific days as well. I will get into the details more when I start the plan. I’m giving myself a much longer period then 30 days because I will be training for my next 1/2 marathon. I want to take plenty of time to get ready slowly to avoid injury. I will be looking for a 1/2 marathon to run sometime at the beginning of October. So wish me luck! Until then follow me as I incorporate this new lifestyle and many new adventures this summer!
