You’d think when a person decides to start a blog it must be because they have a super interesting life or a lot to say. Well most days of mine are pretty mundane and just like the day before. I get up, get ready, walk the dogs, go to work, come home, exercise, walk the dogs, make dinner, clean up dinner and watch an hour of tv. Riveting. But the truth is that’s exactly the way I like it. Don’t get me wrong I love the weekends and the change in my routine for the 2 days and I live for our vacations and getaways. But otherwise I like life in a box, the closer I stay to the routine to more I tend to get done. I’m inherently a very lazy person, if I followed my instincts I would spend most of my days on the couch. Sectional healing, as I like to call it. If I come home from work and change the routine even a little bit and don’t immediately work out, I will just skip it. So to be the best me I can be and honor my body, after all it really is the greatest gift, I just stick to the routine. So today was just another day.
The workouts are tough and I find myself a little more hungry because of the extra calorie burn but I’m still really enjoying them. My hubby has actually been home early enough to join me this week so that has given me a little extra pep in my workout.
The one area I don’t always stick to the plan is when it comes to cooking dinner. i think cooking at home from whole, non-processed foods is the best way to take care of yourself. But sometimes the menu just doesn’t feel right for the night or I forgot to buy and ingredient or defrost something so I have to be flexible to make sure that we get a good home-cooked meal. Tonight I forgot to defrost the chicken, but I really needed to eat the mango or it was going to go bad. So I ended up changing the Greek Style Rockfish into Rockfish with Mango Salsa. Problem solved!
Tomorrow is my Friday at work, super excited for the weekend and watching some college softball games. Should be fun to try and blog while I’m away for the weekend.
