Week #3

So today starts the beginning of week 3, and with it another change to the diet.  Along with eating the extra serving of fruit everyday, I’m also supposed to add an additional serving of healthy fat.  I’m super excited about it because it means I can add coconut milk to my coffee again!

I don’t know about anyone else but me and hubby had the best weekend.  For the second weekend in a row we did not over schedule the days with activities.  We meet up with my sister and brother-in-law for dinner, which was delicious and super fun to spend time together. I handled my dinner out great and chose the chicken breast with a tomato and fennel sauce over baby potatoes.  I indulged in 2 glasses of wine and we all shared a dessert at the end. So I gave myself a pat on the back for a job well done.  Then Sunday night came and we were sitting on the porch drinking our glass of wine with my allowed portion of cheese, as we do every Sunday.  It was such a beautiful night and we were both so relaxed. I had spent the afternoon watercolor painting and hubby had read magazines in the sun.  So we both let out a sigh and I say, “well I guess we better go in and start some dinner.”  To which I received the reply, “or we could get nachos at Molchete Grill.”   Nachos!  I’d like to tell you that I resisted the offer and stuck with my planned dinner for the evening, but I didn’t.  I got those nachos and then I ate the whole thing.  Needless to say I loathe myself today, but we all cave now and then, so there is no sense it beating myself up about it.  Plus they were so very tasty.

So that brings me to the start of this week and a reminder that I committed to this project, so I need to give it my all for the next two weeks.  We will be going away this weekend to watch my niece play softball for Cal State Monterey Bay. Thankfully we are renting a house in Monterey with the family so we will be able to cook for ourselves which makes sticking with the plan a lot easier.

So although eating should’t be difficult, there’s still the workouts to do even when I’m away.  That’s the part of this program that I’ve really succeeded at, I have not missed a day of the Core de Force workouts.  So I need to be strong this weekend and stick with it.  You know how it is when you’re with family, you don’t want to miss out on anything?  So it’s hard to tear yourself away to get in a workout.  But it’s important and it only takes an hour or less of my time.  But that is this weekend, before that happens I still have a lot of week left to finish.
